What are the three best things about Accenture? --[By mark on Sun 17 Feb 08]

They seem to be begging people to join the company--probably because of the high turnover.

What are the three worst things about Accenture? --[By mark on Sun 17 Feb 08]

No respect for home-life. (working 13 hour Sundays)
Poor base salary - offered 50K per year in a market that pays 60K, made it up in overtime until they ran out of money to pay overtime
Managers are a@#holes - young kids out of college thinking they are the next Donald Trump (aka, liars, fingerpointers, don't understand software development)

What would be the one thing that Accenture should improve the most? --[By mark on Sun 17 Feb 08]

Just move the ENTIRE company to India, they keep sending the jobs there anyways.
The people that come to the US from India to work for Accenture are treated like indentured servants.

Any other comments? --[By mark on Sun 17 Feb 08]

If you don't have a job and Accenture offers you one, take it. But keep looking for another job like you don't have one. I was praying every night that Accenture would lay me off, I came so close to just walkning off the job (I heard others in my department did)

1. Good company to improve your technical abilities.
2. With a richer set of clients, this company is quite promising to people who thrive to learn new technologies.
3. The work atmosphere is very good and challenging. There is no one to stop you from growing within the company/client. The more you give, the more it reflects in your growth. But you have to atleast wait for 2 years to see the growth in your salary sector :)
4. Has a good mentoring structure where by you can stop at your mentor and get advices, discuss issues and let out your emotions etc.,
5. Lot of work schedule flexibilities. The downside of this ----- you should be ready to work over the weekends :((

What are the three worst things about Accenture? --[By ukand on Tue 26 Sep 06]

1) Salary does not meet the industry standards.
2)Currently I am hearing about lot of offshoring which is does not seem promising to people working here. There might be a slow down in hiring people here. (Just my intuition)

1. Try to hear more from the employees and address the issues ASAP. I know lot of friends who are still cribbing and whinning over lot of these issues that are not given priority.

I would recommend this company for starters who want to really have a jumpstart on new technologies.
In order to alleviate the problem/issue on low salaries is to work as a contractor to Accenture and see a bit more money $$$$$$
With lot of leniancy in the work schedules, it might fit for people who do not want to commute from far off places since there are options to work from home. However, this depends on the client too.

This is with regard to Accenture-India
1)HR plays a major role in your promotions rather than your superior (manager) who knows more about you.
2)No body cares about the other person. People get in and out like a train.
