How to get promoted or get bigger salary increases within CGI-AMS?

Within CGI-AMS, the individual Business Unit’s (BU’s) management has the ultimate say on the employee’s promotion and salary increases. In other words, an employee does not have to play games with the HR in order to get promoted or get better salary increases. But the downside is, if the BU is not doing well financially, then nobody gets promoted and meager salary increases. So it is very important the you work in a BU that has growing sales and profits, otherwise it is time for you to look for a job. Promotions to directors and above needs corporate approval from Canada (!), again this should not be a problem if the business is growing. So the question one should be asking is “how is my BU doing?”
