Password Theft

When I lost my Yahoo account due to password theft I sent numerous replies to Yahoo. My account info had been altered and their response was so sorry nothing we can do. Due to this I also lost my paid Flickr account. You are required to sign in with your Yahoo info. I offered to email them different photos of the same subjects as in my Flickr account but that wasn’t proof enough. Nor the fact that my home email address had the same name as the handle on my locked Yahoo email. They refused to even tell me how long the account had to remain untouched before they would close it, after they refused to delete it. They made it sound like I alone was experiencing this sort of problem. I really disliked losing almost a full year of loading photos to Flickr.
I have done quite a bit of research and discovered the following site. A site which sells a password stealer for Yahoo accounts. http://www.findpassword.com/Password_Stealer.html
Yahoo is certainly aware of this issue and I feel they should repay the losses people suffer due to their faulty design and loop holes in their software. And start publishing means to contact them. And change their Flickr log in policy.

On 21st December, I got a message from yahoo account that my password has been changed and this mail for your information. You not need to reply this email.
When I tried to log in my yahoo account, I couldn’t do so. When I provided my account info, it is not verifiying the details I am providing. However, my account is 5-6 years old, so even I am not aware what zipcode I provided. However it is sending me my yahoo id on my alternate email address if I request for yahoo ID. It is surprising.
I’m continuously writing to yahoo but no hope. I am requesting them to convert my this account to paid account, but i am not getting any response.
Like other users my all information of flickr and ebay accounts are sent to yahoo ID. I have updated my new info on ebay account but flickr is not allowing my to access my account.
I’ll have to consider it one of my worst experiences and forget about this. Once more victim of yahoo privacy policy. Hackers are enjoying and we are suffering. Really pathetic.
If your Yahoo account has been stolen thru phishing, eg your password and other account details (usually the zip code)have been changed, then Yahoo will not assist in anyway. However a recent Yahoo change means that people that have previously used a credit card with Yahoo, can quote the credit card number and geta new password. I guess Yahoo have finally decided to help their paying customers! See this group for similar stories of account theft. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/stolen_account/
